“We liked this room, and came back a year later for a different room that we didn’t love (Tobacco something). But I would try another room at this place. The Tobacco one relied on too much local information - Duke sports - that we had no knowledge of.”

“One of my top ten rooms! Spooky setting with a couple jump scares. My favorite aspect of the room was being transported into one of the previous puzzles for the finale. We stopped here to kill some time before an event in town, but I like absolutely come back. Good mix of manual locks and high-tech puzzles!”

“This room blew my mind. I’m on a business trip and they were awesome enough to let me do this solo. Annabelle was the best game master I’ve ever had. Everything about this room was incredible. Some really cool spins on how puzzles are done. Please go out of your way to do this room.”

“City With No Sun was an unforgettable escape room experience—all in complete darkness ⚫️! To solve this room, we had to rely entirely on our other senses: touch, smell, sound, and even taste. From tactile puzzles to a smell challenge and more, every moment felt unique and immersive. We started in separate rooms, communicating to reunite by solving parallel puzzles. We’ve done a split-start room before, so I made some assumptions based on that previous room how things might work but I was wrong. It’s a great reminder that every escape room is its own adventure. Though the room was pitch black, I felt totally comfortable. However, it might not be ideal for those who are uncomfortable in the dark or prone to claustrophobia. If you're an experienced player looking for a new challenge, I highly recommend it. Just keep your group to four or fewer players to avoid feeling cramped—and definately play a few other rooms first to build your skills!”

“I cannot describe how much I love these people. This room was incredible, just like the others. I absolutely love the immersion. You actually feel like you’re in prison. Cannot wait to experience more rooms with them.”

“Wow what a room! This room definitely needs at least two people to do. I’m on a work trip and did this room solo. By far one of the hardest rooms I’ve ever done. Started to panic towards the end, but got it done. Thought the room flowed super well from beginning to end.”

“This room was pretty cool. There was plenty of solving to be shared between our group of 4. A few surprises! Staff were enjoyable and play into the escape room experience 100%. Room may need a refresh here and there, but the puzzles and flow are spot on.”

“Whole Brain Escapes is a different style of escape room. They are fun and logical. Riddles abound. There is lots of reasoning involved and you have to read stuff! But they are good linear style rooms and the puzzles make sense with no crazy logical leaps or red herrings. We enjoyed this room and completed it with no hints!”

Raleigh is a city with a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and activities. Some of the things that make Raleigh fun include its beautiful natural setting, with its many parks and green spaces, its thriving arts and culture scene, its vibrant food and drink culture, and its many outdoor recreational opportunities. There are also many popular attractions in Raleigh, such as the North Carolina Museum of Art, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, and the Pullen Park. All of these things combine to make Raleigh a fun and exciting place to visit or live.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
