The Nest [Immersive Theatre]Hatch EscapesEscape roomOther A truly unique and amazing experience. This room is one of a kind. It is not an escape room: it is an immersive experience, and one that I will remember forever. Play it with one person. I can’t imagine having experienced it any other way. If you play with someone else, make sure you’re comfortable being emotionally vulnerable with them. From a technical standpoint, attention has been paid to every detail. The set is immersive and detailed, props are fun to play with but somehow feel like they pull you into each moment. It’s somehow satisfying to keep moving the story along mechanically using technology I haven’t used in decades! Even the smells and music generate emotion. This is one I’ll be recommending as long as it runs. Go do it.
Red GiantQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLGreat room overall: good quality puzzles, generally immersive. Happy to have done it!
Escape from The PrisonTokyo Mystery CircusEscape roomIRLOverall good! Quick room, available for a single traveler, well themed over-world, and cute interactions with an in character GM. That being said, it does have some room to improve. The puzzles are a bit obtuse sometimes, and there appears to be a red herring in the room, though maybe only for English speakers. Additionally, one puzzle’s solution is clearly visible based on wear. I would also prefer the actor to be more scripted or be more committed to character, since everything surrounding it is so fun thematically. Overall, still an enjoyable experience! Would recommend.
Society ZeroExtreme Escape - Stone OakEscape roomIRLPoor puzzle design in general. Several puzzles made no thematic sense, but even more unfortunate that some puzzles had red herring solutions without any guidance to how to determine the path that was preferred. Frustrating. Other puzzles were able to be bypassed with little effort due to poor gating design. Music levels were far too loud in some parts of the experience. Otherwise, the settings were quite good. Nice staff, but overall a negative room experience.
The Return: Ocean HeistExit Lab Houston [prev. Exit Zone Houston]Escape roomIRLFun gameplay, communication is key! Great room design and fun physical manipulation tasks that made it feel like more than just mental work. Good game overall, would recommend in conjunction with “Tribal Ritual.”

The TheaterEscape the Room - Houston MidtownEscape roomIRLOverall the game has a great idea and theme, but fails to execute on it. The game started with the GM having to give us a very specific hint during the pre-room setup. Then during the room, because of poor puzzle clues, the GM would just tell us how to do a puzzle without prompting. The sense was that she knew the clue system was broken for certain puzzles and was attempting to help. However, the owners should allow their GMs to suggest changes to make the experience more seamless. Additionally, the set looked like it was once very impressive, but is now showing significant wear: ceiling tiles broken, exposed electrical wiring and plugs, and a couple of puzzles that appeared broken.
