Black and White CafeMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLActually much trickier than I expected. Hard to figure out the next steps in a few places. Not too tough as long as you’re okay with getting some hints to move things along. No hint gameplay was difficult.
The Magic CottageInfinity EscapeEscape roomIRLVery cool room, well decorated, strong theme, and great acting from the GM. We finished the room with very few hints and then spent 10 minutes making our final decision (unnecessary). Tech all worked super well. Super fun time.
The Family CabinQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLSuper interesting room, found it tough to get going but once we got moving it flowed well. Lots of locks and lots of puzzles. Only thing I didn’t love is that it was super linear but a big space, it would’ve helped for multiple puzzles to be solved simultaneously. One puzzle IMO did not work as intended and slowed us way down for a reason I feel was not on us, but other than that everything made sense!

The Secrets Of Shadow PointWild Goose Escapes - Huntington BeachEscape roomIRLFun room that was definitely themed and decorated well. Definitely had that creepy vibe that made you scared to open doors or look around corners. Only complaint I had was that we got too many “nudges” from our GM during the game. I wish we only got hints when we specifically asked for them because sometimes we hadn’t had nearly enough time to even think about the puzzle yet before we were given a hint. We got out with 15 minutes remaining so we definitely could’ve spent more time figuring out the harder puzzles instead of being pushed forward.
Salem 1692 - SpellweaverNightwalker Caverns Escape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLGameplay was decent - I felt like some stuff was a bit confusing (not in the good puzzle way, but more like the “well that made no sense” way). The decor and theme at Nightwalker is always the star of the show. Another beautiful room with amazing decorations and design. Innovative and unique set pieces always make these feel special and different. Room was dark and we were advised to use our phone flashlights which I don’t love - I prefer leaving all stuff behind and having full immersion. If flashlights are necessary, I think they should be provided in a theme-accurate way (Like the headlamps on helmets in the other room). Lastly, I felt like some stuff in this room felt *too* fragile. It made it tough to know what you could touch and look through and what needed to be left alone. I definitely got delayed on puzzles because I was afraid to touch/break certain set pieces.
Lost CityEscapology - San DiegoEscape roomIRLGreat room, just painfully easy in my opinion. We were a group of 3 adults that love puzzles and escape rooms and this was a breeze to the point where it felt much too expensive. But for a more casual (or drunk) group it might be great.
