Omescape - Sunnyvale
Escape room
IRL
Awesome set design and fun storyline. Theoretically, this should have been a great time. Unfortunately, the structure of the game made it feel like completing a never ending set of tasks. More like a work stress dream than a game. But some folks may love the uniqueness of this room. Either way, check it out and decide for yourself.
Mogollon Monster: Scouting for Arizona's Bigfoot
The Nemesis Club
Escape room
IRL
Every second of Nemesis Club is a not-to-be missed immersive experience. We loved the creative storyline, fun tech, logical puzzles, and awesome gamemasters. The swag was totally worth the visit too. If you are anywhere near Phoenix, this is a must-visit escape room. (Even if your not, catch a flight there).

The set of Treasure Island was totally awesome! Loved the unique puzzles and friendly game master. Our only hang up was the sheer number of puzzles. But we rose to the challenge and escaped with time to spare!

Lab Rat
Hatch Escapes

Lab Rat was one of the Escapeologists absolute FAVORITE games! And that's saying something since we are not easily impressed. The game was hilarious and we honestly couldn't stop laughing at the amusing set design and playful puzzles. Even though we felt like rats in a cage playing this game, we somehow enjoyed the experience. Great game master and totally creative storyline. One of the best of the best games! Seriously, go play it now!

Who doesn't love a good heist! We had an hour to pull it all off and good news . . . mission accomplished. We needed help with some of the puzzles but we overall this was a great escape room experience! Check it out.
Chapter One: Occam's Apartment
Evil Genius Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
Occam's Apartment: Occam's death had been ruled a suicide, but we didn't believe it. We entered his apartment to discover the truth. Norcross Art Gallery: This art gallery housed a dark secret that our team had to discover. Pros: At present, Evil Genius has two rooms both connected by a common storyline. The mysterious death of Occam is a compelling narrative that kept us on our toes. We played both games back-to-back and the transition tied the games together adding to our experience at Evil Genius. The puzzles were sufficiently complex to keep us perplexed through most of the game, but were not impossible to solve. Norcross Gallery seemed more difficult than Occam's Apartment but with hints we were able to successfully make our escape. The set design was immersive and corresponded with the theme. Added audio elements in both games added a different element. The game master was enthusiastic and remained in character throughout. Excellent! We loved Evil Genius!
The Roosevelt Escape Room
Palace Games
Escape room
IRL
The Great Houdini Escape Room: The 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco attracted the brightest minds from around the world. The famous magician Harry Houdini allegedly built the first escape room as a challenge to those geniuses. Our less than brilliant group had 80 minutes to attempt the same puzzles and challenges that these legendary innovators faced over 100 years ago. The Roosevelt Escape Room: This room had some connection to Theodore Roosevelt and World War I. Although the historical narrative made little sense, we knew we had to solve puzzles to escape. Pros: Both rooms had awesome, AMAZING sets. High-tech, elaborately decorated rooms created an immersive feeling for game-players. The puzzles were all tied to the theme and were creative and unique to this escape room. A mix of puzzle types but many mechanical elements. The Houdini Room had a great storyline that carried throughout the entire experience. The storyline was less clearly articulated in the Roosevelt Room and seemed more of a hodgepodge of history. Puzzles were difficult in both rooms and definitely required the whole team. Palace Games is an absolute MUST-DO for escape room addicts. Cons: The game moderator's opening speech was too long and detracted from our initial enthusiasm. The large group size (they encourage 12) is way too big. These are such great rooms, it would be nice to take them all in with smaller groups. This may make it more difficult to solve the sheer number of puzzles in time, but the reduced stress level and ability to focus and listen to your teammates will create a better and much less chaotic experience in the end. Less is more in our opinion. We don't like to miss what's happening by having too many distractions.

We loved the creative storyline and unique puzzles at Clockwise. The game masters were welcoming and fun giving us much needed guidance throughout our game. We struggled with a few of the puzzles in this game. More signposts and removal of red herrings could help. The set was fun and definitely a trip back to 90s childhood!
The Skull Witch
Enchambered Live Escape Room Adventure
Escape room
IRL
Skull Witch: An evil witch with an evil plan. Could we rescue her victim and escape her lair? Pros: We were escorted through the creepy waiting room into the creepy escape room. Our first impression (after overcoming our sheer sense of terror) was that the set design was just WOW. Once the door closed behind us and we stopped flipping out, we cautiously began to explore the cabin. The set was seriously amazing and the puzzles were all aligned to the theme. The tech in the room added to the awesomeness of the experience. We played as a group of six and stumbled our way through the puzzles. The storyline was full of twists and turns that only enhanced the experience. We were surprised on more than one occasion but for the faint of heart, there is no need to fear. This is not a haunted house type of horror experience. Cons: We really had no idea what was going on through most of the game. We were all very motivated and ready to play. Still the puzzles were much too complex for us to grasp. Hints from the gamemaster helped move us along. The timer went off well before we completed the game. Nevertheless, we left the game happy thanks to the amazing set and fun game design. Enchambered lives up to its reputation as the best in Sacramento. Definitely check out Skull Witch - but be prepared to watch your success rate fall.
