Storyteller's SecretBoxarooEscape roomIRLThis was the most impressive room I’ve ever done!! The digital effects were amazing!! The room itself was beautifully designed and it felt like there were so many fun puzzles. If in Boston this is a MUST!
Curse of the Hidden TempleExpedition EscapeEscape roomIRLGreat puzzles, great effects! We got out in 33 minutes, so could’ve used a few more puzzles, but we have done way over 50 escape rooms. Still fabulous though!
Sherlock's StudyEscape May Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis is by far one of my favorite rooms and the people at escape May are sooo nice!! It built so that by the end we were laughing and running around! Highly recommend!
Expedition UnknownEncrypted Escape - Bethesda [prev. Escape Quest]Escape roomIRLWe love encrypted escape in West Reading, PA. So we were so excited when we saw they opened a location in DC. We did two rooms while visiting. The Black Widow was fun but it had a lot of just locks and codes and was very linear. It might be good for first timers. Then we did the catacombs. It was such a good theme. The puzzles were pretty good. The problem was that several things went wrong and the game master didn’t give us time back and didn’t seem apologetic at all. First they literally had to come in and cut open a lock because the answer to the clue did not open it. So we wasted a bunch of time and their hint was “enter the code correctly” but then they realized it wasn’t working and came in with bolt cutters. Then we had an issue where they didn’t reset a puzzle properly and we spent several minutes trying to figure out what a puzzle meant and how to use it when it was already solved and the key was literally next to the lock in the dark where we couldn’t see it. When we pointed that out afterwards, the game master was like - oh yea someone didn’t reset that right. Again that wasted a bunch of time. We escaped but it is not up to the level of their sister location which is literally our favorite escape room location!
Island EscapeBreakout Games - Baltimore TimoniumEscape roomIRLWe did the game with my two nephews and it would make a great beginner game! Laura did a great job running our game. She listened when we said we would ask her for clues when we wanted them. It could use a little more atmosphere/ambience, but a good beginner room.
The Clock TowerEscape The Room - ManhattanEscape roomIRLListen, I have done over 70 escape rooms at this point. I love them. This is the first one I will give a bad review to. The game-master was terrible and kept telling us we needed to do something else when the order would not have mattered. We entered a certain code about 10 times with them telling us we must not be doing it right until finally out loud we said exactly what we were doing and the letters we were entering as we entered them, and then the GM triggered the clue to work. You also had to have outside knowledge in our opinion. We were so frustrated by the whole thing it lost any magic of the normal escape room. We won’t ever go back to this location.
