Ghost PatrolTrivium GamesEscape roomIRLThere were some really innovative puzzles that I have not seen before and the use of an audio component was really cool. I also loved how the room let you know that you had correctly solved a puzzle. The set was great and the pre-game video was really cute. I like spacial puzzles but felt that they overused this type of puzzle just a bit. It also felt a bit too linear to me (one puzzle would be lit up so you knew to work on it) and even with just three of us, there were times where you could only watch as a teammate worked on a puzzle. I’m glad I played this room and there are some puzzles that I will not soon forget.
RobotopiaOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLWow, what a unique and fun experience!!! The set is great and the way they transform the space is wonderful. There are a lot of unique and interesting puzzles. The interactions (or attempts to avoid interactions) with the actor are hilarious and made you feel like a kid, running around trying to not get caught. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all as it family friendly, is unique and fun for enthusiasts and newbies alike.
Hope EndThe Ministry Of PeculiaritiesEscape roomIRLThe set is wonderful, the story is actually really good with unexpected twists, and the puzzles were good overall. The part of the game that I didn’t like is the part that I think most people like the best, and that is the immersive theater part of the game. Yes, the immersion starts the second you walk in and the actors do an amazing job. I just don’t like to have to act back at them. I’m not opposed to live actors in a room. Weeping Witch and Arctic Storm are both in my top ten rooms, but in each of those rooms, I didn’t have to create my own character and make things up on the fly. I just don’t like that aspect of these hybrid escape room/immersive theater games. That said, it is very highly rated as it is unique and they execute every aspect of the experience well so definitely give it a try.
Neighborhood WatcherThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLGreat room! The sets were amazing and the live actor added to the immersion. There were no standout puzzles for me, but the overall experience was a lot of fun. Lawrence, our GM was wonderful and you could tell that he really loves his job. It’s a little scary, but well worth it.

Operation Arctic Storm: The Final MeltdownThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLWow. What a great experience! The set was great and made good use of the space. None of the puzzles were particularly difficult, but there were several of them that I found to be clever, which is what makes me happy. The flow was great and the 90 minutes flew by. I would definitely recommend this room.
Dragon AlleyKeystone Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFantastic set, unique puzzles, and a great staff. There are multiple rooms and always a couple of puzzles to work on at a time so there’s always something to do. I recommend four or five players as there are a lot of puzzles and many of them require more than one person to solve. Everything worked and was in good shape. You can tell that the owner and staff take pride in their rooms. The way you interact with the GM is unique and fun. Highly recommended.
40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLAmazing intro, a great set, some really memorable puzzles, and great use of tech all combine to make this a must play room.
UndercookedOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLUndercooked was a ton of fun. Because it’s not a traditional escape room, because it’s point based, and due to the fact that it’s based on an IP that I know nothing about (I was made aware by my son), I expected that I would not enjoy it, but I really had a blast. There is so much to do and it’s non-linear so you can work on anything that catches your fancy. We usually play with a group of three and I normally never recommend more than four for any room, but I think that 5-6 is best for this room.
Chapter 3: The MorgueOff The Couch GamesEscape roomIRLThis was my favorite of the three games. The set was amazing. You definitely felt that you were in a morgue. It is non-linear and I’d recommend 4-5 players. I liked several of of the puzzles and they were very much in theme with the room. Unfortunately, like their other rooms, I simply couldn’t understand the role and story of the live actor. I think that without the live actor, I may have given the room a heart, or if the room just went full horror. It just seemed stuck between comedic and horror with a live actor whose role I didn’t understand. I’d still recommend it as the gameplay is unique, the set is great, and it had some clever puzzles.
