Storyteller's SecretBoxarooEscape roomIRLI love escape rooms that are shoved into whatever space could be found—something genuinely feels extra special about having to find your way to the business before you actually get to play. Boxaroo is an example of that, and having never played a game in Boston prior, I didn't have any specific expectations. I was absolutely blown away by Storyteller's Secret. The storyline was completely unique and the structure of the room was so creative. I'm excited to try some of their other rooms the next time I get the chance, because this room set the bar high for Boston escape rooms.
Operation Arctic Storm: The Final MeltdownThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLEscape Ventures has never missed. I love that I can point to them as a fantastic business where I can recommend every single room, and Operation Arctic Storm is no exception. As always, great use of a live "actor," fun and interesting puzzles, and mind-blowingly immersive scenic. The game masters here are always attentive and know how to not bombard you with clues when you don't need them. Excellent, memorable experience!
Bloodshed Bayou: Waters UnchartedLocksmith Escape GamesEscape roomIRLI have to confess, I underestimated this room. The fact that the business was in a mall—which was closed, and we had to be let in through the back of the store—I guess made me inappropriately judgmental. I was totally impressed by the scenic for this room. It was absolutely perfect for the bayou theme. The only reason it's not a "love" from me was because there were one or two puzzles that I felt iffy about the logic of. But super cool room and great staff, will definitely return.

The Paper CompanyDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLThis is a great game for beginners or fans of "The Office." It's short and sweet at 45 minutes, and while the scenic isn't elaborate, it does capture well the "office" setting. This was my 100th game and I played with 3 others, including a friend who was a first-timer. The puzzles were relatively easy but still satisfying to figure out. I will say the game master was a little too pushy with clues that we didn't ask for, and often the clues that she gave were reiterating things we had already figured out and were discussing. I also have not done a room that ends with a keypad on the door in YEARS, so when we got to the end I could not figure out what to do with the final number for a minute...
Cuban CrisisEscapology - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI'm sure you never forget your first escape, and this was mine. Although Escapology has since become one of my less favored escape venues, this room will always have a special place in my heart.
