La Cathédrale Oubliée [The Forgotten Cathedral]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLIt’s astounding how much thought was put into this room. Every detail is filled with love - from the story, to the set, to the acting, to the puzzles, and even the little credits video at the end (lovely touch, by the way), you can feel how much this team cares. The #4 ranking on Terpeca is well deserved.
Molly's GameUntold Stories Experiences [prev. Down the Hatch]Escape roomIRLObviously immersive and creative, all the things that you’d expect from a top Terpeca room. But what really separates this one from the pack is the next level storytelling - they laid out the spooky tale in a clever and engaging way. Also, there was one puzzle that had an element I’ve never seen in another room! Bonus points for that.
The StorykeeperLocurioEscape roomIRLI love how the hints were integrated into the story of the room. Whimsical, immersive and tricky at times, this was a very complete experience.
The AlchemistSherlockedEscape roomIRLHollyyyyy set design! From smaller puzzle elements to larger set pieces, every component is made with the most gorgeous, high quality materials - it really feels like you’re walking into a genuine library! During our post-play chat with the GM, he explained that the room took four years to create due to all the custom elements - and this really shows in every detail. It also takes place inside a historic trade building which lends to the atmosphere. So, from the get go, when your GM picks you up in character to when you step in the room… you’re fully immersed. Without spoiling anything, my two favourite moments included the bespoke medallion (and souvenir) created in-game, and the impressive tech, music and lighting during the grand finale. Simply exceptional!
Project MinotaurQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLWithout a doubt, the best room I’ve ever done. It’s 50% escape room, 50% immersive theatre. While there are some solid puzzles, the focus is more on the experience. It was terrifying, exhilarating and unforgettable. I was seriously buzzing for hours after we left.
Disappearance: Last LocationWill To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThis creepy, immersive room was a whole lot of fun. I loved how the stakes of the story escalated throughout the course of the game. The staff was particularly great and chatted with us for awhile about the creation of the room. If you're into dark themes, hit this one up, for sure.
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLSuch an original and fantastic theme.
The UnknownEscape Games CanadaEscape roomIRLThis is the first good room I ever did so it holds a special place in my heart. It’s also legitimately scary, in large part because of the excellent live actor. A ton of fun, I hope it comes back!
Something's Out There!Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLThis room has a fantastic and dark atmosphere that is properly spooky. There were a couple of jump scares that made my heart skip a beat! Puzzles were linear with no red herrings, and satisfying to complete. Definitely recommend!
Escobar: Part 1 (The Betrayal)The Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLUnfortunately, I didn’t have a good experience with this room due to a miscommunication with the staff. So, I left with a bad taste in my mouth… that said, I still recognize that it is a quality room. Excellent theme and set design and also quite challenging. There were a couple of puzzles that felt tedious but, all in all, still solid.
