The Man From BeyondStrange Bird ImmersiveEscape roomIRLWow. After hearing about this room for years, I was a little worried it might not live up to the hype. Summary: it did a dang good job. Note: I won’t say it’s perfect, a few things were quite worn, but the story, and the building /lobby/room were all absolutely incredible. Puzzles were solid, quite a few very satisfying ah ha moments. Actors are present and a critical part of the room; all of them did a phenomenal job. With a few special moments/interactions that absolutely made my day. Strange Bird deserves the praise and I will be among the many waiting for their next room to open its doors.

The Body ShopRed Fox EscapesEscape roomIRLPlayed all 3 red fox games while in Boston for recon 2022. This game is Top 5 game all time for me! Story was absolutely amazing, puzzles and the room itself told /showed me the story and I was blown away by many little details that only added to the experience. A good mix of some tech & lots of very hands on activities (No physically demanding aspects tho) Adaptive difficulty (Nico, Co-owner, explained how they set that up and they do a good job of it) Definitely worth a go if you're playing rooms in Boston! Side note, both other games at red fox were quite good, with "the heist" also making my top 20 list, but if you only have time for 1, body shop is the choice.
Ink & AshesExodus Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe absolutely loved! As others have mentioned, lots of puzzles. Will keep a group busy for sure. Set was very well done and story was the best “detective/murder mystery” style any of us have seen. Flow was mostly logical and kept good variety throughout. 9/10. Really enjoyed. ☺️
Atlantis: The Forgotten CityHypnotic Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe loved Atlantis. Very solid game! Absolutely beautiful set and both staff we talked to were so friendly and welcoming. Love the “preview” near the beginning 😉 and the room only opened up from there! You can tell there is a bunch of love put into the whole thing.
Mad HatterTreasure Valley Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLReally liked this one! Medium hard difficulty overall, one part contains crawling , but there is an accessibility option available upon request. Quite a few puzzles, only a few physical locks in the entire game. I’ve played all 4 rooms at TVER and this one /gemstone are my 2 favorites.
Cat LadyMad Genius EscapesEscape roomIRLThis room was quite hilarious! One puzzle was really finicky, but overall it was a fun, albeit linear room. Played with a few others in a public room (pre covid). The storyline alone is worth checking out this room if you visit the Portland area.
The Vanishing ActLocurioEscape roomIRLVery fun room. Well executed puzzles and challenges. A story that didn't feel forced, but had some interest. Everything felt doable, even the hardest moments always were within grasp. Had a great game host as well.
Wizard's Treasure60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLSo cute! Amazing set and just full of joy and fun. An “easy” room but take your time and just enjoy this amazingly cute gem of a room.
Shipwrecked – Skull Island!Labyrinth Escape Games - NampaEscape roomIRLIn traditional Labyrinth fashion, the set and decor is beautiful. There was one set of things that was just decor, but happened to fit very well with how we were trying to solve a particular puzzle. Unfortunately, for us it was more of the decor. That said. The looks alone make this a nice room. The rain was kinda fun. Not my personal favorite, but it was an interesting gimmick. First room was quite dark, and trying to read rather fanciful or small scripts proved a tad hard.
