Immersia Escape Games
Escape room
IRL
In an industry that often repeats themes and concepts (and hey, I’ll still play them!) I loved that Immersia has really tried something new here. There were a few times where I was so caught up in the setting and story that I straight up forgot I was in an escape room. Some of the most fun I’ve had doing one- and the GM was nice enough to give 5 extra minutes so we could complete it ☺️ Definitely ask for the behind the scenes. P.S. 🪩🕺x 3

I finished Motel Betty a couple hours ago and I’m still riding a high. In my opinion it nails EVERYTHING; the set, flow, effects, immersion, puzzles, AND use of a live actor. Holy moly. Can’t recommend enough if you like a scary room- definitely the best I’ve done in the GTA. I was especially impressed with how fully immersed you feel in the story. The two hours were some of the most fun I’ve had in an escape room and flew by! My group didn’t finish but the staff does let you play out the end, which I really appreciated. For my group of four this did feel like a pretty difficult room despite the 3/5 difficulty rating, so I would recommend asking for hints (or taking a hint when the staff asks if you’d like one) and not being stubborn like we were for the first half of the game! Overall, fantastic room and a new fave. Can’t wait to try out the rest of the Omventure rooms- we’re all determined to get that elite status! 😂

🌋🚁 Very ambitious room you can tell had a lot of love put into it, perfect for my group of four. We got stuck at the very beginning, which I thought was funny. Pretty physical, minimal locks. There was a bit of outside thinking required from what you see in your usual escape room. One thing I especially liked that I wish more ERs incorporated were the clear indicators when a puzzle was completed, either audio or visual. Super nice staff- we’re all excited to come back to finish the other two rooms!

THIS ROOM IS SO FREAKING GOOD!! I’m not joking, if you only have time for one escape in Glasgow make it this one 👏 My friend and I had only planned to do one room at this location but it was so good that we’re gonna create some free time in the itinerary for another (how we’re gonna do that I’m looking forward to finding out). Fantastic production value, ~atmosphere, puzzles, and some fun, unexpected moments. Everything I love in an escape room! Our GM Bethany was great- she gave only just enough hints that we still felt like our escape was well-earned. Not scary, probably wouldn’t even call it spooky- more of a crimson peak vibe/aesthetic that was wonderfully immersive. I now dub this aesthetic-spooky. A new fave! My friend who refuses to get Morty: I loved this room, I wish I could forget it so I could play it again! 🇨🇦🦫🥳🍁😂 bonus points for the HOMETOWN SHOUTOUT!!

An A++ room! ✏️🛝🏈📚 I’ve really come to appreciate escape rooms with a low-stakes theme… you know, sometimes it’s nice not having to worry about the world exploding! And when you leave you’re still carrying those good vibes- that was this room! Puzzles aren’t difficult but there is lots to do. Great for a large group. I did this with a friend and it was truly down to the wire… we were definitely some sweaty spaghettis after. The staff at this location were exceptionally nice. We marathoned a few of their games while we were here and had a wonderful time. Of the five we did this was my personal favourite! This company does allow others to book in your time slot if all your slots aren’t filled, so something to keep in mind. They told us this was less likely to happen if you book during a weekday. P.S. Staff said there was one guy who completed this room solo. Legends only

Lol I was too freaked out to be of any use to my group of 6, but we still managed to escape with 25m to spare, surprisingly!

⚡️ Fallout vibes! My friend and I had so much fun in Honeymoon Suite that we decided to ditch our itinerary and keep the escape party going. Ended up being perfect back to back escape choices as they have fairly different themes and puzzles (my favourite was Honeymoon and his was this one, so there you go). The GM let us bypass a puzzle at the beginning that involves a bit of memorization and repetition which I appreciated. Lots of fun and love the little bits of humour Niagara Escapement slips into their rooms. Manifesting them expanding to a second location because I’d be keen to see what they could do with an even bigger space!

🧪🥼 An incredibly fun puzzle-fest with a very satisfying climax- maybe one of my faves to date! I know the general rule of escape rooms is less people = a better time, but for this one, trust me: this non-linear and densely packed room is well-suited for a large group! I played as a duo and we were running around, hard. Our gamemaster was very nice and removed a puzzle they keep for larger groups, probably saving us about ten minutes. So much fun and definitely a favourite of ours on our Scotland trip! Do it!

I don’t care if it’s 25c outside, I love a Christmas room!! This was a very Tim Burton / Rusty Lake vibe, which I loved! Quite a bit to do so prepare to work a little faster if you’re playing as a duo. More traditional / lock and key room, and non-linear which helps to split up the work. And with that, I’m officially done all of Niagara Escapement’s rooms and sad about it! Hats off to the owners- four phenomenal escape rooms and a testament to how a big space isn’t needed to create a great escape experience. The rooms also manage to feel very different from each other while still carrying that Niagara Escapement “brand” of humour/cheekiness + cohesive storytelling with thematic puzzles. The bar is set!
