The Last SupperQuest TavernEscape roomIRLAre you ready to “whine” and dine with a medieval Lord? I hope you are because you’re in for a special treat! Words cannot describe how much I loved The Last Supper! It is less of a puzzle-focused escape room, but more of an immersive theatrical experience through storytelling, suspense, and puzzles. The puzzles themselves weren’t difficult to solve, but it definitely became more challenging due to the pressure that you feel from the live actor and the immersion of the room. Do you have what it takes to skip a meal and escape the Last Supper? This room does have a live actor, and it is one of the fun parts about this escape room! My friends and I are still laughing to this day because our Lord was very witty, intense, and kept us on our toes! The hint system was also very “bright” and we had a great time utilizing it when we needed help. If you’re looking for a thrilling, immersive, theatrical escape room experience, this is the one for you. This room is everything that players rave about, and it did not disappoint! So be our guest, and dine at The Last Supper!
Irvine School of Wizardry and the Goblin's SecretsHidden DonkeyEscape roomIRLThis was a very whimsical escape room! You definitely felt like you were in the wizardry world, and what made this a unique experience was the tech and mechanical aspects that went into this room. You can tell that the creators put a lot of work and creativity into their puzzles, props, and set design. As a group of 3, we had a great time together! This escape room is linear, so 3-4 players are a good fit to communicate, work together, and think outside the box. There was so much to look at, and we tried our best not to get distracted by how magical this escape room felt! Haha. I would highly recommend this escape room, especially if you’re into the fantasy theme and Harry Potter!
The Weeping WitchCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLWhat a spooky magical room! It was quite “Bewitching” and to play it on Valentines Day too was extra special and fun! Words cannot describe The Weeping Witch! What Cross Roads Escape Games does well with their rooms is intertwining their storytelling with special and thematic effects while maintaining a consistent and fun gameplay, and this room did just that! The spooky voodoo ambiance was impressive and had a perfect blend of jump scares, high tech and lock-and-key puzzles, and smooth transitions. If you’re worried about being scared in this room, the scares are predictable as to when the Weeping Witch will appear, but still beautifully crafted with a strong set design full of laughs, scares, and surprises. The hint system was very interactive and SO much fun!
RockstarCityscape GamesEscape roomIRLIf you’re looking for a fun interactive escape room to “amp” things up, Rockstar is the one for you! We had such a great time from beginning to end, and you can definitely tell that a lot of heart and rock-n-rolling went into the creation of this escape room. Going into this, we knew that this room would be challenging, especially with the amount of players that we had (2), but we were up for it! I would rate this escape room as medium or hard, depending on your skill level and confidence. You don’t necessarily have to be musically inclined or have prior music experience to enjoy this escape room, but if you are, this would be perfect for you! You will appreciate the musical references in this room. I completed this room with another person, and I admit that it was challenging (but in a good way) as there were A LOT of puzzles to complete within the space that it was played. There was never a dull moment because this room was packed with puzzles, surprises, and a-ha moments. No puzzle was ever the same, which is what I really enjoyed! I would recommend 3-4 players for this room because it’s bi-linear and the physical space itself was pretty large as well. Having more minds in the space would be helpful in accomplishing your mission as a team, and this escape room truly forces you to communicate and work as a team in multiple facets. Overall, this was one of my favorite escape rooms at Cityscape because it just had the perfect amount of everything. From the puzzles, the props, the gameplay, the set design, we loved everything about this room. We had about 5 more puzzles to complete, but our Game Master allowed us to finish, and we truly had a great time! Know that you don’t need to be a talented rockstar to play, Rockstar. Just go out there and DO IT, and show them what you’re made of! You won’t be disappointed in this escape room!

Ink & AshesExodus Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI hope that you’re ready to ink-vestigate! Because this escape room is such an underrated, hidden gem in SoCal that you’ll escape, wanting more! Even though this is the only room at Exodus in Tustin, Ink and Ashes has made a name for itself through its integration of puzzles, story driven narrative, and linear conquest. This is your classic Whodunnit game but with a mixture of high tech puzzles, added special effects, and suspense. I cannot say enough about the set design of this room. It’s truly un-fire-gettable! Ink and Ashes created such an immersive experience of mystery without the need of an intense scare factor to drive the story and the tasks that you needed to complete in order to solve the case. Once again, if you’re looking for a suspenseful (not scary), story driven mystery with a skill level of medium-hard, this is the room for you!
Winnie The PoohMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLWow! This escape room was SO much fun and SUPER, SUPER CUTE! I would highly recommend Winnie the Pooh to anyone and everyone, adults and kids alike who love the childhood story of Winnie the Pooh because of how adorable, cute, fun, and exploratory this escape room was. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed! Everything from the set design, the storyline, the puzzles, I was truly in awe and immersed in the Hundred Acre Woods. Throughout the game play, I had to stop a few times just to admire and take it all in. You can tell that a lot of work and love went into this escape room. The puzzles were very creative and beautifully designed. A few things that I enjoyed most about this escape room was how it was linear (divide and conquering at its best!), the reveal of the completed puzzles were adorable (and satisfying), and the puzzles were straightforward and easy to navigate (with a slight nudge to get us started in the beginning). I brought my friend along and it was his first time doing an escape room (ever), and he really enjoyed it; and he caught on pretty fast too haha. This escape room was pretty doable with 2 players, but I would recommend having at least one very experienced player as some puzzles required a mixture of puzzles between mathematics, logical, visual, storytelling, etc across different sceneries and puzzles. Overall, I loved this escape room, and I will not stop raving about it! Truly perfect for beginners, family and friends, and kids and adults. Be sure to take a trip to the Hundred Acre Woods!
Irvine School Of Wizardry And The Dragon WandHidden DonkeyEscape roomIRLI truly had a great time and would highly recommend this escape room because of how immersive and magical it was! We were absolutely in awe! One of the highlights was definitely the added touch of having each player pick their own wand, say spells in synchronously with each other, and unlock clues without even touching the locks. Between Dragon Wand and their other room (Goblin Secrets), I would definitely have to say that Dragon Wand was my favorite! Personally, I enjoyed Dragon Wand more than Goblin Secrets because of the high tech, mechanical, and scientific aspects of the escape room. This one was linear as well, but I felt that we were able to plan accordingly and complete the puzzles more easily. This space is massive and you truly feel like you’re in the wizardry world! Hidden Donkey did a phenomenal job at utilizing the space that it has, and you can tell that a lot of hard work, creativity, and heart went into Dragon Wand. Give this one a shot. You won’t regret it!
13th BasementExit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRLBy far, one of my favorite escape rooms to have ever been played! If you enjoy horror movies and creepy themes, this is the escape room for you! My group and I call this escape room the “initiation” escape room because it builds teamwork, communication, and trust. (Just a heads up that they do blindfold you in the beginning). The theme is not scary, just creepy, but as a fan of horror movies, this escape room played homage to some of my favorite horror movies through the puzzles, game play, and set designs. Would highly recommend this escape room!!
ZookeeperCityscape GamesEscape roomIRLWe had nothing but “paw-sitive” vibes at Cityscape Games! It was our first day in training as a Zookeeper at the Tacoma Zoo, and let’s just say that my mom and I had a “zoo-rific” time! It was my mom’s first escape room, and it was definitely the perfect one for her to try! I would highly recommend this room for beginners because it was playful, had a perfect mixture of puzzles between mechanical, gen 1, and physical puzzles, and it was presented in a fun and interactive way that really tested our skills. Even though this escape room was puzzle heavy (4-5 puzzles each category) and multi-linear, it was fairly easy to follow once you got started. The storyline was super cute and just a lot of fun! The props were well taken care of, everything was up to date, and the gameplay went smoothly. My favorite part was the reveal at the end, so keep on the look out! For this room though, I would recommend a group of 2-3 players due to the physical space. This room is fairly small compared to other escape rooms. Even with 2 people, it felt a little cramped, so 2-3 players would be my recommendation if you want to play comfortably and interact better with each other.
