I had this room wishlisted on Morty and we had a chance to do it yesterday and I'm happy to report it lived up to the hype!! TLDR - Amazing team (shout out Joyce, our gamemaster), Immersive Theming, Clever and Unique non-linear puzzles, even a bit of the soundtrack from the Sherlock (Cumberbatch) tv show. Our team ranging from 5 to 70 loved it! Now for some details: The team was super nice. Joyce helped check us in, making sure our waivers were ready and was also our game master. Note - have the team sign the waivers online before coming to the game, it saves a bunch of time. She helped pump us up with excitement while we waited for our full team to arrive for the game. I loved that when you first step in the room, they ask you to close your eyes while the narrator is delivering the intro speech. It truly sets the tone, and helps you switch from just being in the lobby to being at the gates of Moriarty's Manor. They had a little bit of the Sherlock TV show soundtrack playing at times, and those familiar with the show (and who love it as much as I do) will be filled with glee when you hear it at the beginning and end of the game. I love that it has multiple rooms to go through ... keeps things pretty suspenseful because you neer really know how close you are to the end. This was our team's 19th escape room, and honestly ranks in the top 5. We also felt like it was the best our team has ever done in terms of piecing together clues and not being stuck for too long. The games are non-linear, so everyone can pitch in instead of working on 1 puzzle at a time. I don't know if I would recommend this for a team smaller than 4 because there are a few puzzles that require teamwork. Our team consisted of a 5 year old at the youngest, and 70+ year old at the eldest. Everyone was able to pitch in and help solve the puzzles. We all loved it. The theming was on point. Dark and mysterious (not too dark), they really made it feel like we were rummaging through Moriarty's Manor. Perfect set pieces and atmosphere throughout. There is plenty of parking on weekends. They have 2 designated spots out front just for them (if needed). Highly recommend !! Book it now !! The Game is Afoot !! Thank you Joyce for helping make it so fun for our team!!
Mutiny: Skull IslandEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLOne of the best escape room experiences we've had! Very thematic, immersive, with clever effects and puzzles. We drive 4 hours round-trip to Escape Games at the River to do their games. Love them all, especially this one. Highly recommended! Arrrrghh Ye Matey !!!
The Great Candy ChallengeEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLVery cute room with a sweet theme. Don't overthink the puzzles - they are clever, but not difficult. The team loved the candy that was in the room to eat! We were eating candy and solving puzzles - it was a really fun time, and another fun room from Escape Games at the River!
Pirates of the Mediterranean: The Curse of the Crystal CavernTop Tier Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLSuch a fun room, with a lot of interactive characters (that was a first for us!), effects, music, thematic lighting and sound effects. Truly felt like we were right there in a crystal cavern. There were a LOT of puzzles to solve, many of them were pretty challenging. We had a big group (8) so it got a little chaotic, but was super fun. It was our 2nd room of the day and we wanted to do another when we were done. Highly recommended!!
Gold RushMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLThis was the first of 2 rooms we did in 1 day at Mind Trap. The set design was awesome - you really felt like you were in an old cabin looking around for a way into an old gold mine. It was really fun. The medium rating is accurate - our party of 5 finished with about 15-20 minutes to spare. The games and technical design of the game was very clever. We love escape rooms that’s immerse you into the game with their set designs and props and this one was a winner. We’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the games!
EndangeredEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLThis was unanimously one of our most favorite escape rooms ever! It's the first one of this kind we've done, where you aren't escaping per se, but collecting as many items as possible. In this case, we were attempting to free as many caged animals as possible. It was a group effort (5 of us), but we finished and found all the animals! I almost felt like crying when the end music played - it was so immersive, we truly felt like we had accomplished rescuing endangered animals in real life. Amazing set design - amazing use of tech - amazing puzzles - we are so beyond impressed. Insanely good.
Polar Express: Loading of ChristmasEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLSuch a fun Christmas theme and beautifully staged. We always look forward to the Christmas games at Escape Games at the River! Non-linear, so our group of 7 was working on separate puzzles at the same time. Some crawling, some snow, lots of fun!! Only open through mid-January 2024, so hurry and try it!

Tomb Raiders: Scepter Of EgyptEscape Games at the RiverEscape roomIRLSuch a well designed room! It's dark for the first 10 minutes and there were a few jump scares that startled few in our team - very fun!! The puzzles were possibly the most challenging ones we've encountered (this is our 13th room). Only 1 key/lock, the rest were puzzles that gave you items to use in the next puzzle. The team is also always super friendly and helpful here. I don't know who designs these rooms, but it felt like something from a Hollywood set / Indiana Jones ride line at Disneyland. .. very high quality. Loved it!
Atlantis: Dive To The Forgotten CityTop Tier Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLLove it! They did a great job with the atmosphere in the room and making you truly feel like you were scuba diving underwater. The intro video was well done, too. We had a pretty large group (8 - 6 adults, 1 teen, 1 child) and everyone found something to tackle and help the team escape. There were a lot more puzzles to solve in this game than keys/locks to find (e.g. the solving of the puzzle would activate something else for us in the room), so that was a nice little change. Overall, we loved it and had a great time!
