Dragon AlleyKeystone Escape GamesEscape roomIRLWe only had 2 people but unfortunately had to pay for 3 to play this room☹️ we got out with ~4min left, was a challenging room but if the payers are experienced it can definitely be done. Room design was great and storyline was very interesting. Game master was also very funny and made the game awesome!
Operation GryaznayavodaIn Search Of An ExitEscape roomIRLWow, 10/10! This escape room is truly one-of-a-kind. After trying so many others, this one still managed to blow our minds with its fresh, creative puzzles. We completed with 2, but there were a good amount of challenging puzzles, would recommend 4 if you have people that are newer to escape room in your group. The setting and theme are unbeatable. From the moment you walk in, you’re transported into a fully immersive retro world—every little detail has been carefully thought out. The puzzles are both fun and incredibly innovative; you can really see the amount of passion and effort the owner put into designing them. I was especially impressed by how the owner re-engineered vintage game machines—no easy feat! Overall, I think this place is seriously underrated. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Portland, even if you’re not an escape room enthusiast. The atmosphere and theme alone are enough to take your breath away.
Blood of the OriginalKeystone Escape GamesEscape roomIRLPlayed by 2 and got out with ~10min left. 2 people is actually great for this room. If you come with more than 2 will, some people in the group will probably have nothing to do. Room itself was pretty spacious and the design was very cool! Most puzzles are very well thought and delicate. One of the puzzles requires 2 people to work together, we put it the correct answer but the lock still didn’t open. Tried several times and finally had an ask the game master for help, which was pretty disappointing. Game master mentioned this happened quite often, wonder why this wasn’t improved or adjusted? One other puzzle requires searching small pieces in the room, which may be challenging with just 2 people. Other than the one lock, the other puzzles are pretty creative and worked fine.
Lombino's CasinoIn Search Of An ExitEscape roomIRLWe did two rooms back-to-back, and this was one of them. Once again, everything was brilliantly designed! The theme takes you back to the 1980s, and it’s filled with humorous touches—yes, ALF makes an appearance! It really captures the vibe of that era in such a fun and nostalgic way. One of the most impressive parts was the clue system—it came through a pager! I never used one growing up, so it was such a cool novelty to actually interact with one. There were also tons of puzzles centered around retro technology, like cassettes, a video recorder, and even an old-school 80s computer with a terminal interface. It all added to the charm and uniqueness of the experience. The puzzles themselves were smart and creative, and there was plenty to keep us busy. We managed to complete the room with just two people, though we definitely got a few helpful nudges from the game master along the way. Overall, this room is an absolute must—especially if you love a good dose of nostalgia mixed with clever gameplay!
Something's Out There!Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLThis room leans more toward providing a spooky, immersive experience than a puzzle-solving one. The storyline is engaging and the atmosphere feels convincingly realistic, but the puzzles tend to be on the easier side, with solutions that are fairly straightforward. Overall, it’s a good choice for players seeking a chilling experience, but may not satisfy those looking for more unique or witty puzzles.
Spell StruckThe Escape Artist - West SeattleEscape roomIRLThis is an average room. Finished in ~40min with 4 players. Game is medium difficulty, heavier on the reading/comprehending side (reading instructions / guessing word riddles, etc). Might be easier for native English speakers as there are some vocabs. Theme is set in cabin/witch/potion, etc. there were more than one puzzle that included completely unnecessary information that mislead players to comprehend puzzles incorrectly. This is a big no for me, in my mind all information should be relevant to the puzzle. When we figured out how to solve it was pretty frustrating. Room design is ok but not novel, most puzzles are ordinary ones you see in a typical escape room.
The LadderHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLWould not recommend. The experience felt chaotic and disorganized, and the puzzles mostly consisted of repetitive tasks rather than engaging problem-solving. We arrived exactly on time for our booking, but were told we should’ve come 15 minutes earlier so the GM could go over the rules. The GM was noticeably curt about this and informed us that the time spent on the explanation would be deducted from our actual play time. After playing over 100 escape rooms, this was the first time we encountered a place where arriving on time was treated as being late. It set a negative tone right from the start. Before we entered the room, the GM instructed us to focus on completing mini-games to earn money, which would supposedly affect the final outcome. He briefly mentioned that there was a main storyline as well, but the emphasis seemed to be on “divide and conquer” the money-earning tasks. We followed those instructions, prioritizing the mini-games—only to find out at the end of the first room that the main story was actually more important. By then, the first phase was over, and we had missed key elements. The mini-games themselves were mostly repetitive—sorting, repetitive motions, etc.—and didn’t feel like puzzles at all. Due to the GM’s decision to dock time because we arrived “on time,” our time per room was cut short by 3-5 min each, which felt rushed and frustrating. Overall, this was one of the most disjointed and unsatisfying escape rooms we’ve done in a while. The set design was visually impressive and clearly had a high production budget, but unfortunately, that didn’t translate into a coherent or enjoyable gameplay experience.
The Curse Of Madame Zita’s CuriositiesFind & SeekEscape roomIRLThere are quite a few puzzles to solve, but we managed to get out with 2 people. 45min is tight but still manageable. The difficulty of the puzzles are relatively on the easier side. There is one puzzle that requires a level of English vocab (both me and my husband are not native speakers so actually struggled a bit because we don’t know the word lol). If you are native English speaker you will be fine😂. One feedback to the owner is that we would recommend to give more guidance on which door/drawer was opened when we solve a puzzle. There are a couple times when we solved the puzzle without noticing a drawer was opened, and was stuck for a couple min without progressing until we noticed the drawer was actually opened:(
Da Vinci's Secret60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLThis is a 75min room with plenty of puzzles. Overall fun escape room, made it out with almost 30min to spare. The GM was really great and enthusiastic, he sets a good tone of the game. There are some puzzles with word play involved, which threw us off a bit since we are not native speakers, but eventually figured it out haha. Overall solid escape room, medium difficulty with good storyline and set up.
Operation: D.B. CooperNW Escape ExperienceEscape roomIRLThis is a good room with a fun storyline of DB copper, the local legend. We escaped with 2 people and still got 21min left. Most puzzles are straight forward, but unfortunately not too tied to the storyline. Would recommend no more than 2, otherwise some people might be left with not much to do.
