The Body ShopRed Fox EscapesEscape roomIRLI can’t stop thinking about this game! Incredibly impressive and immersive set design, genuinely clever and surprising storytelling, and puzzles that require items and tools you’d actually find and use in a repair shop. Plenty of surprising moments that had us thinking, “we get to do that?!” What also stood out to us was the room’s adaptive gameplay. The game adjusts the number of puzzles seamlessly based on your group’s speed of solving. All types of groups will be rewarded with a full hour of puzzle solving. A must play in the Boston area. It’s Girl Scouts law.
Election DayAppleseed AvenueEscape roomOther This is what escape rooms are all about - a game that made me fall in love with the medium all over again. An incredibly detailed neighborhood made up of distinctly beautiful spaces, intuitive onboarding, clever and logical problem solving, and one-of-a-kind character interactions, which were ALL in service of hilarious, dramatic, and unforgettable storytelling. I can’t stop thinking about this game. If you want to experience some of the most immersive gameplay and storytelling in the area, swing by Appleseed Avenue and register to vote before Election Day. What could go wrong?
InksidiousEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLChanneled our inner DoodleBob for a very fun and clever game. The storyline stood out to us the most, with a unique and memorable beginning, middle, and end. A healthy number of logical and enjoyable puzzles, with a few that poke fun at escape room tropes (but still utilize those tropes for solving). Jules was such a fantastic, upbeat, and kind host! Would definitely recommend this game, and when you do visit, tell Beans I say pspspsps 🐈
Jewel of the SeaIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLOne of the best pirate ship games I’ve played. Really fun puzzles and tasks, a beautiful environment that truly stretched from floor to ceiling, a unique hint system, and a few very special mid-game moments. A very cohesive experience by all metrics.
Conundrum MuseumBoxarooEscape roomIRLEscape room puzzling at the highest level. The game kicked off in a very memorable way, before an hour full of challenging yet satisfying puzzles. Plenty of puzzle types we’ve never seen before, too! The lighting and artwork made us feel like we were making our way through an actual art gallery, where puzzles slowly started to reveal themselves upon closer inspection. If you have a few escape rooms under your belt and you enjoy puzzle solving, you will be greatly rewarded with this game.
The Emerald FlamePostCuriousEscape roomTabletopOne of the best of the best when it comes to tabletop puzzle games. Beautifully drawn and crafted game materials, a storyline that ends far from where it begins, and incredibly satisfying puzzles that solve elegantly. The game is broken up into three chapters, so it’s easy to put down and pick back up again. A must play in tabletop puzzle solving!
Spellbound CastleCoastal Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAn enjoyable game that might especially appeal to fans of Harry Potter. A good mix of tech and locks, and we were impressed with the upkeep of the props and environment. Some puzzles felt a bit easy or over-clued in the game, but others had fun outside-of-the-box solves. Overall, the story and puzzle types might feel familiar to seasoned players, but we still had a good time with the game. A solid find in the Myrtle Beach area worth checking out!
