40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLThis room was extremely immersive and my entire family really enjoyed it! One of my favorite rooms at mind trap!
The TreehouseConfusion EscapesEscape roomIRLThis room is hands down one of the best decorated rooms we’ve ever done. You truly feel like you’re in a whimsical fairytale. Props and decor 10/10. There were some puzzles that threw us off but overall we conquered the room! Our kids had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this room for families.
Project MinotaurQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLWow. Project Minotaur. This room was insanely immersive — easily one of the most memorable escape rooms we’ve ever done. That said, this is not a beginner-friendly room. Even if it’s your second, I’d say wait until you’re more seasoned. There are elements that definitely require experience, strong teamwork, and a sense of humor under pressure or you’ll crack. We went in as a party of three with a decent amount of room experience, and it was still intense in the best way. I’m a scaredy-cat by nature but have recently been dipping into horror/thriller-style rooms — and this one absolutely delivered. It had me on the edge of my seat (or crouched behind a corner, trying not to scream). The atmosphere, effects, and surprises will keep your adrenaline high from start to finish. It’s a massive room. You’ll be crawling, navigating a maze-like space, and doing puzzles that require sharp memory and communication — not because they’re overly difficult, but because the immersive chaos amps up the pressure. And yeah…you will be chased. Probably multiple times. But if you go in with the right group and embrace the chaos, you’ll have a blast. Our incredible game masters (shoutout to Gabe and PJ!) truly made the experience. Their in-character improvisation was top-tier — we were crying laughing half the time, and their quick responses to our jokes and comments made the whole thing feel like an interactive horror comedy we were starring in. Don’t be mistaken however, this room can definitely be the opposite for another team and expected that as well. We were the ones that turned it into more horror comedy than anything and they rolled with it. Truly can’t say enough about how they elevated the experience. Also — yes, we escaped! Our game master let us know we beat it in above average time, which was the cherry on top. Just goes to show: even when you’re screaming and crawling through a maze, teamwork and experience pay off. Final advice? Don’t let your fight-or-flight response take over. Lean in. Interact. Yell back. Laugh a lot. Embrace the chaos. And whatever you do… pick teammates who can survive with you and laugh with you.
Winnie The PoohMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLSuch a great room for a family! There were a lot of activities within the room that our kids got to participate in which added to the experience. Puzzles flowed well and were easy enough for our kids to get the hang of and even start independently.
45 Lampkin LaneConfusion EscapesEscape roomIRLWe had an amazing time! The props, set, and design were right on theme and you truly felt like you were in a haunted house. We did it without the scare actor (I’m a scaredy cat) but we are definitely considering doing it again with the scare actor as we now know there are some different puzzles/aspects if you choose to do it with the scare actor.
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLWow wow wow! This room takes you to a whole other dimension. The props and overall set up were on point. This was the room that kept on giving, literally! I absolutely loved the nostalgic vibe of this room. My partner and I were able to escape with no clues as a party of 2. Will definitely be back to do more!
Something's Out There!Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLMaze Rooms rarely misses — and Something’s Out There is no exception. We’re giving this one a solid 9/10. It’s a spooky, eerie experience that builds tension without relying on heavy jump scares. It’s more unsettling than scary, which actually works well for the theme. The room is immersive, but if you’ve played Whatever Happened to the Garretts?, you’ll understand why we’re saying this one doesn’t quite reach that same level. There are moments where we would’ve liked to see the immersion pushed just a little further — especially in the second half. That said, we don’t want to give away any spoilers because the room does have some really cool touches and design choices. Puzzles were logical, clean, and diverse, with a smooth flow from start to finish. We loved the blend of tactile and tech elements — everything made sense and kept us engaged. The only letdown was the ending, which felt a bit abrupt. We were actively working through a puzzle when the game just ended — a little jarring after such a solid buildup. The location of the ending was creative, though, and visually interesting. Overall, Something’s Out There is a well-executed room with great atmosphere and classic Maze Rooms craftsmanship. For fans of eerie themes and strong puzzle design, it’s absolutely worth a visit — just don’t expect it to hit quite as hard as Garretts.
ExcaliburMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLSuch a fun theme roomed! You really feel like you’re in the medieval times. Loved the amount of puzzles and interactive props!
The Curse / The Curse AwakenedCuriosity Escape Rooms [prev. Clever Fox Escape Rooms - Menifee]Escape roomIRL10/10. This was our first time at this location for a little midday date and we’re so glad we chose this room! Each room was decorated perfectly and our game master created the perfect atmosphere! The game master aka “spirit” was the perfect level of rude (yes rude) and funny which made it an even greater experience. I am a scaredy cat and even I found myself enjoying room a lot. Some minor jump scares but nothing unmanageable. Not all of the puzzles are linear, some things you will have to go back for so pay closer attention! We will definitely be back!
TakenMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLI am NOT a thriller, gore, horror or anything like that fan at all and this is one of my personal favorite rooms due to the aspect or needing to use so many different senses. If you get spooked easily don’t worry, this room is doable! I would definitely recommend this room.
