Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLAbsolutely one of the best escape rooms out there. 4 people felt like the perfect amount.
The BirdMyssTic RoomsEscape roomIRLA great escape room that shows that even with a very small footprint you can create a very magical experience. Packs a huge amount of content into a small space. Puzzles flowed together nicely and even though each component was only ever used once, they all thematically felt linked together. We solved it with 3 people with about 15 minutes or so left. There was one puzzle that had a bunch of really fiddly components that was somewhat frustrating, and there was no "distinct introduction" of sorts—the game kind of just starts.
Timeliner: Train Through TimeThe Escape Game - New YorkEscape roomIRLIt's a fun, pretty normal escape room. Nothing that will probably make you feel super immersed or say wow, but it's the general kind of good quality puzzling and pattern-recognition that The Escape Game rooms generally are. If you've played other rooms from The Escape Game, it'll probably make it much easier to solve this room since the way the puzzles are written and structured is somewhat similar.
Carbon: 3708Mission Escape GamesEscape roomIRLA very challenging escape room with some neat visual effects and a ton of tech, though there's some cool physical puzzles (no padlocks, though). If you're really experienced with escape rooms, there might not be anything that's immediately unique, but it's a high-quality room for the NYC market. There usually were multiple things to work on at once so it's good for a large group of people.
High Speed NYCExit Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLA nice NYC-themed escape room (at least in the first half), though it is really short (with 4 people, we finished in under 35 minutes). Very linear. Some of the components are definitely showing their age. The 2nd half of the room definitely felt much weaker in terms of storytelling and immersion than the first half.
Prison BreakEscape Room Seattle by Fox In A BoxEscape roomIRLSome really novel and unexpected tasks involved in this room. Some props are definitely showing their age, though.
Elevator to HellBrainXcape Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLWonderfully immersive right from the moment you step off of the (real) elevator into the escape room establishment. Even though it's a single, small room, it makes use of the space in creative ways that break standard conventions of other escape rooms (in a good way). Unlike the other reviews, we didn't think that there was anything that required major logical leaps...though we thought one of the puzzles could have been a bit more streamlined (in a very simple way) to make the logical deductions required more reasonable. There's an automated hint system that will prod you along if you're taking too long on things. We would have preferred if there was a way to only request hints when we wanted them, since we ended with a lot more time left on the clock. It's perfectly-sized (though somewhat expensive) for 2 people, maybe 3 people (with a slightly more reasonable per-person cost). More than 3 people would probably be pushing it a bit in terms of the capacity and the amount of content in the room.
