The Seed Of HopeThe Sanctuary Escape GamesEscape roomIRLSpooky escaping at its best! So many elements make this one of the best escape room experiences I've ever had. It was a fast paced, nonstop adrenaline rush for the entire 74 minutes & 50 seconds it took us to complete! Previous reviews suggested it wasn't possible to complete on the first or a single visit, but we can confirm that it is - we completed the room with 4 people, 1 of which was an escape room virgin, with a whole 10 seconds to spare! The room is masterfully planned & constructed. I don't think I've ever been in a room quite so fast paced - one puzzle led quickly and naturally to the next. The "room" is huge - it takes place over an entire house with many rooms on multiple levels, which really exploits and encourages team work. The spooky atmosphere is immersive, but wasn't as scary as we were led to believe (a good thing - we came to solve puzzles, not to be scared out of our wits)! I cannot recommend this room highly enough - wish we had more time in the area to play Sanctuary's other rooms.
The HangoverEscape City BuffaloEscape roomIRLOne of the hardest rooms we've ever done. The room requires 4 people minimum but they kindly modified one of the puzzles so it would work with 3. We needed a bonus 5 minutes to escape. Fun and funny puzzles throughout, and the end sequence was epic - very high production!
InvasionMind Factory Escape GamesEscape roomIRLLOVED this room. Our favourite of the two rooms at Mind Factory. We were in town on a Tuesday - a day when Mind Factory wasn't usually open, but saw a note on the website encouraged us to email about the possibility of them opening for us. Dave, the owner, emailed back immediately and said he'd be happy to open just for us. When we arrived he was the perfect host - we couldn't have hoped for a better experience. Invasion is Pt.2 of a 2 part story and the highlight of our trip here. The puzzles, props, atmosphere and story line were all great. If you have time, I'd definitely recommend doing both Breathless & Invasion (in that order) in a single visit. We left feeling exhilarated and accomplished!
The End of the Bleeping WorldNiagara EscapementEscape roomIRLThe second room we played today - this one was more high tech than the first (Honeymoon), and made for a great contrast if doing both rooms on the same visit. Lots of well thought-out puzzles and plenty of satisfying "aha" moments. The owners and room designers were perfect hosts. Make sure you allow time for their delicious coffee, baked treats & maybe even a board game or two!
Body CollectorsEscape City BuffaloEscape roomIRLImmersive & creepy! The easiest of the three we played here, but also my favourite. Love the unique way our party of 3 were separated at the start of the game.

BreathlessMind Factory Escape GamesEscape roomIRLWe were in town on a Tuesday - a day when Mind Factory wasn't usually open, but saw a note on the website encouraged us to email about the possibility of them opening for us. Dave, the owner, emailed back immediately and said he'd be happy to open just for us. When we arrived he was the perfect host - we couldn't have hoped for a better experience. Breathless was a great room - Pt.1 of a 2 part (so far) story. There were a good variety of different types of puzzles and one element of the room was extremely unique - I've never seen it in any other escape room. Great room & great host!
Honeymoon SuiteNiagara EscapementEscape roomIRLA more traditional lock & combination room, but sometimes that's exactly what you want! Some very well thought out puzzles and plenty of satisfying "aha" moments. The owners and room designers were perfect hosts. Make sure you allow time for their delicious coffee, baked treats & maybe even a board game or two!
The HeistThe Escape Game - MinneapolisEscape roomIRLFor a mall escape room, this was a good one! Unfortunately one of the puzzles was broken, and had been replaced with a simple padlock - a shame, as it was for a pivotal part of the experience/story, and we were perplexed about how we'd escaped without interacting with one major element of the room. It didn't spoil the experience, but left us feeling a little short changed! Overall we enjoyed the room and would recommend.
The MummyEscape Zone Long IslandEscape roomIRLPoor room and poor overall experience. Very dark room with no provided flashlight, so using flashlight on phone was an absolute necessity for many puzzles. Several of the puzzles were broken (missing locks that hadn't been replaced), and we were only told that once we'd completed the room. Wasted a long time searching for a key inside one solved puzzle only to be told it had probably been pushed too far inside (by the member of staff resetting the game) and someone had to come in the room to retrieve it for us. Staff were inattentive - felt like our game wasn't even being monitored. When we asked for a hint, we had to call them on a walkie talkie and they had no idea what our progress was - asking us, "have you solved this puzzle yet? What about this one?..." When we finally escaped there was nothing to tell us the game was over & no one waiting for us. We had to use the walkie talkie to tell them, "we think we've escaped" before anyone showed up. One of our worst escape room experience, and at $40 +tax, one of the most expensive. Very disappointed. Would recommend staying away from this business & location.
