The Wonderful Wizard of Oz13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLWe came back and did another 4 rooms. For a total of 8/9 rooms and this was by far my favorite. Puzzle difficulty felt aimed at families and had some really show stopping effects and animatronics. But there are definitely some parts and effects that felt unfinished.
The Campground13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLThe best of the 4 rooms we did at 13th hour that day. It has a pretty large footprint and good puzzles. But you definitely need 4 or more people in your party. Very challenging even for experienced escape room enthusiasts. It has like 4 steps total? So reasonable for limited mobility but might be an issue for wheelchair users. I will also warn about the fake snow in the room. It irritated my lungs and I was coughing a bit. So if you have any breathing issues like asthma maybe communicate that to the staff ahead of time.
The Grand Parlor13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLIf you have any mobility issues I strongly do not suggest this room. Half the room is up a set of stairs that you will definitely be going up and down multiple times and one of the aspects includes a crawl space. If your party is able bodied though it’s a fun experience. I liked a lot of the puzzles and the theme. I’m not good with horror and had a reasonable time.
The Dungeon13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLThis room has stairs that you’ll have to go up and down frequently. So keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. Puzzle difficulty seemed pretty hard but that seemed like a common thing for this company. The blindfold and chains was probably the standout feature from this room, but it didn’t seem as themed as many of the other rooms we tried.
The Trophy Room13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLSolid room. Puzzle difficulty seemed pretty hard but I did like the theming and props. Had a crawl space but only one person has to do it.
The Great Room13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLSolid room. I liked the puzzle difficulty. But it’s still generally harder than typically escape rooms. No stairs, but it had a crawl space and only one person has to do it.
The Cookhouse13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLI liked the room. Most of the puzzles were fine, though one of the hidden clues seemed a bit unfair and too hidden to me. It had multiple occasions where you had to crawl/go under things. Though if you have at least one solidly able bodied person in your party to do those 2 or so aspects you should be fine. Otherwise, I don’t suggest it.
John Hayden's Room13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLIve done worse escape rooms but I’ve also definitely done much better. Probably my least favorite of the 4 we did this time. Multiple game mechanics failed and we had to do half the room in the dark when we weren’t supposed to. The puzzles were reasonable and made sense and we escaped. The mechanics were good for the theme and it’s a reasonable room. There are just better rooms at 13th hour.
