Mogollon Monster: Scouting for Arizona's BigfootThe Nemesis ClubEscape roomIRLWow. Just wow. I’ve done over 200 rooms and this ranks in the top 3. No wonder it’s rated one of the top rooms in the World. The set design was beautiful. The intro was very cool. The game play was so much fun! There were some truly unique moments, especially the ending… Our GM was great, he actively observed us to help push us along letting us know if we were on the right track and providing hints at appropriate times. Definitely a bucklist item for any escape room enthusiast.
Flynn's ArcadeBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLAnother excellent game from this company. This is an excellent game with a varied amount of high tech and physical challenges. There are a lot of clever puzzles. It is a lot to do for two people but we were able to get through. One of my frequent complaints with escape rooms is the amount of time given to finish the room. Many times I feel like there is too little time given for too many puzzles. But I do think 75 minutes is a fair amount of time given to finish this jammed packed room. There are lots of wow moments. We had a great time.
The Curse Of The Black KnightEscapeX Rooms - IrvineEscape roomIRLExcellent experience! Our game master Tim was great and he was very helpful. The space was small but very intricate and well constructed, full of crawl spaces and multiple floors. There are times where you need to traverse multiple rooms to solve a puzzle. Speaking of puzzles, they were straightforward but well done and creative. The theming was great. Recommended for beginner to intermediate level players.
Escobar: Part 1 (The Betrayal)The Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLSimply amazing. Very well themed rooms with some innovative puzzles. I would say a little less tech than the prison room but still top level as far as escape rooms go. It’s fun breaking some of the traditional no no rules for escape room. Our game master was fun and helpful. Post game free sodas are a nice touch.
Wrongfully ConvictedThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLSo much fun! I saw this room featured on Jeff Goldblum’s show on Disney +. Very creative puzzles which require team work especially at the beginning. The theming was top level, you really feel like you’re in a prison. Our game master is super cool and the hint system was unique and dare I say, fun? The final puzzle was pretty difficult but we were able to figure it out with 3 advanced players. Best part is the post game free soda. Great job guys, I really enjoy your attention to detail and outside the box thinking.
The Family CabinQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFun room. Theming was pretty good esp if you have fond memories of the 90s. There’s some innovative use of tech. It’s ideal for 2-3 people especially if you’re experienced. We didn’t need any hints.
Gold RushThe Escape Game - ChicagoEscape roomIRLThe room was well themed. I like the design of the cabin. There was good use of technology with some fun interactive elements.
SpellboundGreat Room Escape - TempeEscape roomIRLThe room has potential… I found it immersive with a nice set design. A lot of tech (and you can tell that the creators spent time designing them), however they don’t all work intuitively (not sure if they were glitchy). For example, there were two puzzles where we were interacting with correctly but they didn’t work until we tried it for the third time. There was one puzzle that we had to interact with the prop for an extended amount of time (like over 2-3 min for an effect to take place. This left us wondering if we were doing it correctly. I think with tech puzzles, it should work pretty quickly/seamlessly to let the players know that they are on the right track. There was also some puzzles that were a little vague in terms of what to do after an effect was triggered. All of these technical problems made the room time consuming and somewhat frustrating. With the stated technical issues, it would be nice to have the GM chime in when they’re seeing that the players are interacting with the puzzle correctly to help push them along. Also 60 min is too short for the number of puzzles in this room, might makes sense to extend to 75 min.
The GiftRed Door Escape Room - San DiegoEscape roomIRLThis was the second room we did at Red Door. Our game master Dorothy was really helpful and fun. The room was well themed and the level of puzzles are appropriate. Room is fairly linear. The most difficult part was finding all the items scattered around the room. The final puzzle was pretty unique and used good tech.
Sev3nNo. 1 EscapesEscape roomIRLOverall a good game. We completed it with two experienced people. I think it would be helpful with 3 or more because there are A LOT of puzzles and some of them can be quite time consuming. The room size is not huge but it can be overwhelming with searching given the sheer number of drawers and cabinets to search through. We probably opened and closed each of them multiple times to make sure we didn’t already search through them. There was one color puzzle which was confusing because one of the color clues was a bit ambiguous. Also the lighting was a bit dark for us to make sure we were seeing the colors correctly. There was also a fair amount of going back and forth between rooms. Despite these issues, we enjoyed ourselves overall and we look forward to their next room.
