“The Body Shop could have just been a normal car shop-themed escape room and it would have been cool. Red Fox goes above and beyond injecting its humor and craziness into the room. For one, you are here in a body shop to get Girl Scout badges, so this is far from your average car nut room. It only escalates from there in the best possible way. There are adaptable puzzles for different groups and difficulty levels. We got out with 2 minutes to go as a small group of 2 with the hardest puzzles! We apparently set a record too! Only thing I would have loved even more is to have some genuine edible Girl Scout cookies! Can’t say enough great things about this company, our GM David, and the excellent escape experiences within! You will have fun here, scouts’ honor!”

“Fun and engaging bite sized “escape” rooms! Enjoyed much better than the likes of Level 99, less crowds and plenty of time to redo rooms after failure. A plethora of experiences with very doable physical challenges (from the rooms I visited). Heavily recommend: The Farm, Area 51, Lava, Alcatraz.”

“One of the best museum gallery rooms I’ve ever done! The puzzles are stellar, and hit that on so sweet perfect spot melding logic, wordplay, and pictures. The puzzles towards the end absolutely surprised and delighted us! We experienced something using unlikely props that we had never seen any other room brave enough to accomplish. But this museum delivers it artfully. I would even go to say that the puzzles… ARE ART!”

“Great themed escape room with a high communication puzzle and a variety of puzzles to last you through your hour long multi room experience. One of the better themed experiences I've done and Great staff to boot. Had a great time with my group with a ton of prison jokes”

“This room could have just been a typical bank heist, and it would have been pretty good, but Hot Dog Heist elevates everything with its strange humorous premise and ridiculous macguffins like the golden weenie! This room isn’t afraid to inject something special to make it super memorable and against the grain. And it deserves lots of weenie points for it! The effort put into the room makes it far from the bratwurst heist room. I had so much fun! However, it would have been better if private rooms were the norm and not a big upcharge. We had a public room, and it was an ok experience, but it would have been better without strangers. That said, it did help to have an extra pair to tackle the many tasks. Another downside is ALL THE BACK AND FORTH CRAWLING… It’s pretty much mandatory because of the room’s design. Still enjoyed the room, but ouch for our wee knees. I love weenies!”

“I don’t normally enjoy submarine rooms as much, but son of a submariner, I had a lot of fun in this one! The immersive impressive set was a major factor, as were the puzzles. The room gets very hard, and our smaller group of 2 only had 11 seconds to spare before sinking to our doom! If U want a good boat escape, U-Boat is for U!”

“Boxaroo's IRL escape rooms are all brilliant, yet they're even more fully able to show off their epic puzzle design (and fabrication!) chops in their tabletop/ballroom games. The Perfect Heist was so exquisitely designed, satisfyingly tactile, and full of quirky humor. Very highly recommend!”

“Excellent heist room! I love that the gallery itself in the room museum was genuinely interesting. Like, I would check out actual art pieces in this museum that I am heisting from. The puzzles made sense, were logical, and utilized the art works well! All the rooms at the Boston Red Fox are great and are highly recommended!”

“Magical room! But not as magical as the other two rooms at the excellent place known as Boxaroo. I enjoyed most of the puzzles, though there was one annoying dim hunt, and one somewhat decoy puzzle that taunted us until we realized we needed to do something else first. The final puzzle was pretty fun, though it felt fast. I would recommend the other two rooms here first. But if you’ve done them too, then third time’s a charm at Boxaroo!”

“I don’t think I’ve played a game that so successfully accomplished what they were aiming for. First and foremost, this game is made to be educational. It’s not difficult by any means, it’s not crazy immersive or challenging, it’s simple and fun. No background music, which makes it a little awkward, but the puzzles all make sense and are well done, and there’s not any hiccups in the game flow. Simply put, if you come into this game with the right expectations, knowing that it’s not challenging at all and made to educate people about financial topics in an entertaining way, it’s quite a fun experience, and free, which is a nice bonus. If that doesn’t sound very appealing, this just isn’t the game for you, and that’s okay!”

“I was surprised to go into one of The Escape Game rooms and find broken equipment and puzzle pieces so soon after opening. At first glance, everything was amazing and looked sleek and high tech but as we started to play we noticed that several of the puzzle pieces were chipped and one had been broken and poorly glued back together. The scanner that allowed you to read what was on the cards was broken and we had to manipulate and maneuver the pieces to try to figure out the hidden imagine. Once we overcame those two hurdles everything else became what we had to come to expect. The remaining set pieces and rooms were amazing! The puzzles were all strong and kept us hopping from beginning to end. The finale of the room was fun as we maneuvered the sub through the final obstacles. Great room and I am sure they will fix the two minor issues we had in the beginning. Also, these rooms are very linear and I think you have a better time with a smaller group.”

“Definitely one of the best rooms at Trapology! The mood was perfect and the set goes in surprising directions. The puzzles, including the leadup to the finale, are well done, and very tricky. But they’re done in a way that makes you feel wicked smart when you figure it out. The rooms are unfortunately public, but in our case, a group of 4 was able to help our group of 2 to tackle the many tasks. Together, we made it through the room in way less than 1 Witching Hour!”

Boston is a city as rich in its history as it is in its modern entertainment attractions. Every year, millions of people descend on the city, eager to experience its historical landmarks, vibrant culture and arts scene, excellent sports teams, and its many restaurants and bars. In addition, the city is home to a number of popular tourist attractions, including the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, and the New England Aquarium. Overall, Boston is a lively and exciting city that offers a wide range of things to see and do, making it a great place to visit for people of all ages.
In recent years, Boston has come alive as a true escape room destination. In fact, Boston is home to nearly 50 different escape room venues and Boston offers a particularly exciting array of escape room experiences that are suitable for all tastes. Storyteller's Secret at Boxaroo is an award winning room that is sure to delight. Red Fox Escape's The Body Shop is another hit that is known for its beautiful set and immersive story. With over 100 escape games in the entire area, the possibilities are nearly endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
