The Wonderful Wizard of Oz13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLThis room is all about theme and it does it incredibly well! If you know the story you'll love it! If you don't know the story, you'll love it! You play through the movie and the reveals of the next set pieces are very well done. The puzzles themselves are quite linear but that's ok for how it plays out. The GM was amazing, can't wait to see what they build next!
The Asylum: PlaytimeLost GamesEscape roomIRLWe did this room with 2 people, we escaped and we both left feeling the same way. Not bad, not great, just meh. With such great reviews we were expecting more. I can see why people like the room but the clue system really takes away from it to a great degree. Even letting the GM know ahead of time that we don't like unsolicited clues, by the end of it we both felt like we didn't need to think any more because the clues would just keep coming and you might as well just wait and let them do it. The "needing to escape" was gone.
The Great Room13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLI quite enjoyed The Great Room. The puzzles were more blended between tech and mechanical which was nice and there was enough to do for both of us. The height of the room was well used as well, I really liked how they used that space! There are one or two small items that could make this room better but that doesn't mean it's bad by any means. This is the first of the Hayden series we have done and it left me excited to do the others!
Carbon: 3708Mission Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis is a great high tech room. There is more than enough to do, we did it with 2 people and only made it out because the GM gave us an extra 3 minutes! It's possible with 2 people but you have to keep moving! The only negative I would say with this room is that it's too high tech. I like a blend of puzzles, some tech and some mechanical, this room is all high tech. It is done very well, everything worked and the GM was very nice and knowledgeable.
High Speed NYCExit Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLIt's a nice room with good theming. The puzzles are pretty linear and two of us made it out without much issue but the theme and some of the puzzles are interesting. I was feeling a little annoyed with how quickly we were flying through it but there's more to the room than it seems. Once we got to that reveal I felt much better about it!
The Asylum: The Doctor's SecretLost GamesEscape roomIRLThe room is built well, the puzzles are fine, everything worked. I like the setup they have, how immersive the opener is, all that is great. The room didn't click for either of us but there wasn't anything wrong with it. Do both rooms back to back, they take you from one to the next without breaking the immersion which is a nice touch.
Adventures in WonderlandTrap Door & Madness Distillery - Wonderland MadhouseEscape roomIRLI feel like this shouldn't be listed as an escape room. It's more of a walk through attraction with a few puzzles along the way. Kids will likely love it, adults or people looking for an escape room experience should probably look somewhere else.
Military BunkerThe Blue MooseEscape roomIRLThis is an interesting location with this escape room build into the existing hallways and rooms of the building. The location of the room makes it interesting and it has a few fun discoveries along the way. Our group of 2 didn't have much issue escaping in time but there were a few items we had to ask for a clue on as we weren't sure we were heading in the right direction. Not a stand out room but if you're in the area it's a fun room to check out.
