La Cathédrale Oubliée [The Forgotten Cathedral]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLThe experience ramps up quickly and doesn't let go until the very end. Such a fun experience to go through. It was a roller coaster of an experience that keeps on a tense lease for the entire experience. Completely immersive and a story that builds into an explosive finale. I will be thinking of this for years to come.
Dark LullabyEscape Artist Greenville - Hampton StationEscape roomIRLThis room executes everything I love in an escape room to the most excellent degree. The sound design is outstanding using new technology that increases the immersive elements that I have never seen used outside of theater. The production and set keeps you on your toes and it's surprising where the nightmare will lead. The actor is a chaos figure that is at times helpful, frightening, and comical. The pacing keeps every player engaged. There are a lot of puzzles to solve. The room experience starts with a haunting whisper and ends with freeing scream; and we loved every second in between. Truly, after thinking about it for a week, out of all the escape rooms I've played in the US, this might be my favorite one in the country.
AbstractionEliviascapeEscape roomIRLA creepy beginning that just gets creepier as the experience continues. One of my favorite game mechanics I have seen in a game and scratches a personal scare button. Delightfully paced to reveal a journey to save yourselves!
L'Île perdue de la Reine Vaudou [The Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLLet's rock the boat! A great immersive experience that will make you feel like you are battling a storm in the middle of the sea. Great interactive moments to help you realize your pirate fantasies. Fun antagonists whether the denizens of the ship, island, or nature itself!
The Weeping WitchCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLWhat an incredible use of space. Art direction to make sure every corner of the space makes sense and themed to the room. A tightrope of an experience that will keep its players on its toes until the very end. Scare abound but so are the puzzles!
Election DayAppleseed AvenueEscape roomOther Have you ever wanted to live and play in a neighborhood in spite of the chance of murder and mayhem? That's the question I asked myself after working as a temp detective on Election Day in Appleseed Avenue. The resounding answer was YES! An experience that's immersive, detailed and full of charm. I smiled every minute of my temp job. I didn't want my time to end and was sad to leave. It left me wanting so much more! Can't wait until the temp agency calls for more openings!
Flynn's ArcadeBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLAnother hit at Brain Games! There is such care given to telling a coherent story, providing 'wow' cinematic moments, and fun variety of puzzles. The start of this game is so, SO cool!
Ink & AshesExodus Escape RoomEscape roomIRLInk and Ashes does what great escape rooms do, direct the audience through clever lighting, sound cues, and atmospheric use of storytelling. It keeps the players at a great pace to gather us for the theatrical bits and open it up when doing puzzles. The story is straightforward but the game makes the fun in the process. Make sure to pay attention to the story so you can let the room shower you in your success!
The Ghost Of MentryvilleArcane Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLOne of my absolute favorite experiences ever and not just escape rooms. The story sucks in like a warm dangerous embrace. The actor was central to our experience and made the entire storytelling aspect on the edge of our seats. Take your time with this escape room. It's not meant to be rushed. Let the story take over and a profound theatrical experience will progress to a thrilling end.
InksidiousEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLA delightfully puzzle filled escape room that is fantastiscally produced. The art direction of this room is very consistent with the theme and it is so charming. Lots and lots of fun puzzles that come one after another. A fun surprise that comes half way through the experience.
